Summary of Duties:

Reports to the Manager of Taxation & Accounting Services. Maintains tax master files, mortgage company master listings and computerized data files for the Pre-Authorized Payment Plan.

Work Performed:

  • Updates and checks computerized tax master file for name, address, and legal description changes provided by internal and external services (i.e. lawyers, owners, assessors, and other related parties).
  • Updates and checks computerized Pre-Authorized Payment Plan master files for additions, changes, and deletions.
  • Updates and checks mortgage information as it relates to individual tax accounts and maintenance of the mortgage company master listing.
  • Determines changes in ownership resulting from returned demand for payment documents, i.e. tax bills, notices of past due taxes.
  • Filing of documentation for changes to tax roll and pre-authorized payment accounts.
  • Assists in the processing of instalment billings for all tax accounts.
  • Prints duplicate tax bills for new property owners through the computer system.
  • Assists in telephone and tax account inquiries relating to the status of various tax accounts.
  • Processes, records and distributes divisional mail.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Completion of a one year Community College Office Administration Certificate.

Experience:

One year related experience.

Specialized Training & Licenses:

Skills and abilities in the following areas are necessary:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and various software.

Compensation & Other Information:

$38,106 - $54,932 (Level 5)

This posting is for one (1) permanent full-time position.

Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Work Arrangement: On-site.

These hours of work are subject to change in accordance with the Collective Agreement and may include evening hours and Saturdays.
