Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the Manager and is responsible, through management and supervision for the integrity, reliability and compliance requirements for the Administration of the Messaging and Microsoft 365 Infrastructure which includes the Mobile Messaging environment. Supervisory duties to include ITS teams.

Work Performed:

  • Manages and supports the health of the infrastructure for Microsoft Exchange, Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Microsoft 365 Tenant Services. 
  • Responsible for ensuring reliable Microsoft 365 Tenant and MDM based services and collaboration availability and security to include administration of the Microsoft 365 Tenant, messaging filtering, and error log tracking.
  • Responsible for ensuring configuration of Microsoft 365 Tenant Services / MDM server security through secure access, monitoring, control, and security evaluations.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Manages, reviews, assigns, delegates and directs the work functions of employees.
  • Responsible for coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Undertakes corrective action with respect to employees in conjunction with the Manager and People Services.
  • Provides information, orientation, training, instruction and supervision as required to assist employees in performing their work functions.
  • In conjunction with the Manager and People Services, maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective agreement.
  • Responsible for design and development of the retention technical policy, message archiving, retrieval, and deletion according to best-practices for maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Develops implements, maintains and ensures change management for Microsoft 365 environments including Exchange, Teams, OneDrive and all other tenant level Administration requirements.
  • Anticipates, mitigates, identifies, responds to, and resolves problems affecting Microsoft 365 Tenant and Messaging systems performance, efficiency, and availability.
  • Responsible for the enterprise Active Directory (AD) administration, operational delivery and associated service delivery such as AD Federated Services (ADFS), Single Sign On (SSO) and Group Policy Update (GPO)
  • Participates in the review and adherence in the overall ITS governance.

  • Directs and manages projects from conception to completion, overseeing all aspects of project execution to ensure deliverables are met within timeline and budget constraints. 
  • Conducts performance management reviews of project resources. 
  • Conducts and/or assists in the performance management and evaluation of employees.
  • Conducts investigations (including MFIPPA, employment, corporate policies etc.) as well as documents findings and provides written/verbal reports as required.
  • Conducts analysis and evaluation of current and future needs for Microsoft 365 Tenant and messaging systems, enterprise-wide needs and requirements.
  • Involved in the integration and implementation of Microsoft 365services with other systems and enterprise Applications.
  • Manages vulnerability and risk assessments for Microsoft 365 Tenant and Messaging systems, contributes to overall information security strategy through risk analysis and evaluation, assesses hosted services for acquisition based on security and functionality, and audits permissions and access rights for compliance.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Demonstrate commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression, and human rights through interactions with community partners, employees and individuals and implementation of policies, programs and protocols that reflect this commitment. 
  • Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Health and Safety legislation and programs; and actively promote a culture of safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

University Degree in Computer Science or three year Post Secondary Business Information Systems Diploma, or equivalent.

Skills and Abilities:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing Microsoft Exchange Infrastructure, technical systems experience preferably on internal support of Windows based Client/Server Systems, LANs and network communications is required. 
  • Detailed knowledge of Messaging Platforms such as Exchange and MDM Solutions.
  • Microsoft Certification, preferably MCSE - Messaging.
  • Experience and demonstrated effectiveness supervising and coaching staff. 
  • Certification in ITIL Foundation - an asset.
  • Formal project management training with Project Management Certification Professional (PMP) or equivalent is an asset. 
     

Compensation & Other Information:

$87, 024 - $113, 644

This posting is for one (1) temporary, full-time, up to one (1) year position.

Standard hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m.  

Work Arrangement: Hybrid. 

These hours of work and work arrangements are subject to change in accordance to business requirements.
