Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the Coordinator, Licensing & Compliance, Planning & Economic Development, the student’s primary responsibilities are:

  • Assists with application processing and licensing renewals for business, rental and vehicle for hire licensing
  • Assists in telephone and email service for the Licensing area
  • Provides assistance in compiling information and updating database information
  • Types, copies, and distributes letters, correspondence, and other materials
  • Scans documents and files them in the City’s electronic document management system (Sharepoint)
  • Assists with generation of complaints and other documents
  • Assists with annual mobile sign permit renewals process

Qualifications:

Enrolled in Office Administration Executive Program or related field.

Must be a current student enrolled in full-time studies returning to school full-time September 2025 and/or require this placement to graduate from an academic program.

Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe and data entry software
  • Experience in working with the public
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Compensation & Other Information:

22.44/hr.

This posting is for one (1) temporary full-time up to 4 month student position.

Term Length: May - September, 2025

Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Work Arrangement: On-site. Subject to change in accordance with business requirements.
