Summary of Duties:
The Student will work with the City of London’s Laboratory staff. The Laboratory is accredited under ISO 17025 and analysis must be done according to Laboratory methods. Samples will come from Wastewater treatment plants, surface and groundwater. The solid samples from wastewater treatment plants can generate odours when heated/dried.
Work Performed:
- Report regularly to supervisor on work completed, and assist in other shared duties in the Lab.
- Use of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to transfer analysis data.
- Analysis will be done for suspended solids, total solids, volatile solids, pH and alkalinity and other analysis as needed.
- Quality Control methods are to be reviewed by the student to ensure accurate and reliable results.
Qualifications:
Student must be enrolled in a Full-Time studies academic program within the disciplines of: Science, Environmental Technology, Lab Sciences, Chemistry, Biology and/or a related area of study.
Student must be returning to Full-Time studies in September 2026.
Also Student may be required to have:
- Excellent attention to detail in performing sample analysis and following methods
- Excellent Time Management skills
- Excellent Excel skills
- Initiative and organizational skills.
- Ability and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team.
Compensation & Other Information:
$23.11/hr.
This posting is for (1) student opportunity for up to 4 months staring in May 2026- September 2026.
This position is arranged to be in-person.
