Summary:

Recreation Facilities provide all citizens the opportunity to participate in recreation activities in a welcoming, clean, safe, and inclusive space. 

Role:

Reporting to a Supervisor, Recreation Services, the Cashier is the first point of contact at City of London facilities. This casual position works as part of a team in a public facing fast paced environment processing transactions including admissions, passes and merchandise while providing exceptional customer service in response to guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to City of London patrons who attend programs and/or use facility including answering the phone, greeting customers, looking up information on applicable system, and providing directions. 
  • Ensure front desk is neat, clean, and fully stocked at all times. 
  • Accountable for all point-of-sale transactions and completing daily balancing including associated paperwork in compliance with the Corporate Cash Handling Procedure. 
  • Demonstrate commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression, and human rights through practices and interactions with community partners, employees and individuals and support programs and initiatives that reflect this commitment. 
  • Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Health and Safety legislation and programs; actively promote a culture of safety.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Cash handling and balancing experience is preferred. 
  • Criminal Records Check (CRC) or Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) (prior to the start of employment)
  • Current Standard First Aid Certificate (prior to the start of employment)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office including word and excel.
  • Ability to use point of sale computer systems. 
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • High level of comfort in fast paced public facing environments. 
  • Second language is an asset (please indicate on resume).

Other Information:

Starting Wage: $17.20 per hour
