Summary of Duties:

Works under the direction of a Supervisor or designate. Assists in a variety of tasks in Pollution Control - Operations.

Main Duties:

  • Assist in cleaning, operating and servicing of sludge dewatering equipment and buildings.
  • Required to take samples, scheduled or as directed.
  • Use hand and power tools such as but not limited to wrenches, shovels, mops, brooms, paint brushes, power washer, riding lawn mower, forklift, skid steer loader and generators.
  • Handles toxic and corrosive materials such as but not limited to chlorine, bleach, alum, lime, polymers, potassium permanganate, in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • May be required to make minor chemical, sludge or pulp feed adjustments as directed.
  • Occasionally show other employees how to perform tasks.
  • As assigned, perform related duties which are transient or of an emergency nature, or which are minor but recurring.

Educations Qualifications:

Successful completion of Grade 12 in the Province of Ontario or equivalent.

Specialized Training & Licenses:

  • Must possess a valid Class "G" driver's licence.
  • Some knowledge of PCP operations is required.

Note: Shift work may be required.

Compensation & Other Information:

$25.72 - $28.56 per hour

This posting is for two (2) permanent full-time positions being filled on a permanent basis.
