Summary of Duties:

Reports to the Manager III, Facilities Operations or designate. Takes supervision and direction from the Facilities Systems Tradesperson. Performs maintenance duties at various City facilities.

 

Work Performed:

  • Maintains, inspects, tests and repairs building mechanical systems including electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration systems, and other building services and equipment in municipally owned and leased facilities.
  • Cleans, lubricates and makes routine adjustments to building equipment and systems.
  • Receives and prepares written instruction, prepares written reports, sketches and estimates.
  • Uses power and hand tools, and electrical and mechanical test and repair equipment.
  • Performs maintenance painting.
  • Moves furniture and supplies as required.
  • Cleans mechanical areas as required.
  • Assists other trades in their work.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Shift work may be required.

Qualifications:

Building Environmental Systems Certificate or equivalent.

Experience:

One to two years' related experience.

Specialized Training & Licenses:

Skills and abilities in the following areas are necessary:

Valid Driver's Licence-Class G.

Compensation & Other Information:

$47,268 - $65,880 (Level 8)

This posting is for one (1) temporary full-time up to 1 year position.

Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Shift work may be required.

Work Arrangement: On-site. Subject to change in accordance with business requirements.

These hours of work are subject to change in accordance with the Collective Agreement and may include evening hours and Saturdays.

NOTE: Applicants may be required to complete a job related test.
