Summary of Duties:

Reports to the Division Manager, Taxation and Revenue. Responsible for organizing, administering, directing and controlling the effective billing and collection of all tax revenues, tax arrears and non-tax revenues.

Work Performed:

  • Assists the Division Manager in the directives of the development and maintenance of data processing systems related to the section activities. 
  • Assists the Division Manager in the coordination of the budget of tax related revenue and expenses.
  • Directs and controls assigned staff engaged in the revenue, taxation and tax collection operations of the Division.
  • Recommends training, reviews staff performance and staff appointments, promotions, demotions, discipline and transfers for assigned staff.
  • Authorizes allocations of duties to assigned staff and authorizes overtime when necessary.
  • Directs and controls the tax related billing, tax accounting and tax collection system for the Corporation.
  • Directs and controls remittance processing activities for the Division. Remittance processing encompasses electronic bank payments, pre-authorized payment programs and the coordination of telephone and Internet banking.
  • Develops and maintains effective cash handling systems and automated payment processing systems.
  • Represents the Division Manager - Revenue and Tax Collector in his absence.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Five years related experience in managerial capacity in municipal taxation and accounting environment.
  • Well developed research, organizational, analysis, communication and accounting skills.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of four year University degree (Honours).
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.

Compensation & Other Information:

 

$100,395 - $131,441
This posting is for 1 temporary, full-time, up to 2 years position.
Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Work Arrangement: 100% On Site
