Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager of Dietary Services or designate, is responsible for cleaning of pots/pans, kitchen equipment and performing general kitchen duties.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Loads soiled pots/pans and cooking utensils in preparation for cleaning in dish machines.
  • Operates dish machines and ensures chemicals added and temperature is appropriate.
  • Unloads and puts away clean pots/pans and utensils.
  • Performs related cleaning functions including kitchen equipment, refrigerators, walls and floors following posted cleaning duties.
  • Assists with the delivery of food to each floor.
  • Assists with kitchen supplies as required.
  • Disposes of recyclable and disposable garbage.
  • Washes by hand items not machine washable.
  • Follows the Health and Safety, Ministry of Health, Public Health, WHMIS and HACCP guidelines and procedures.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Manager of Dietary Services or designate in the dietary department.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 in the Province of Ontario or equivalent.
  • Ability to speak, write and understand English.
  • Food Handler’s Certificate
  • Completion of or enrolled in an accredited Food Service Workers Certificate.
  • Experience in dietary environment in Long Term Care Facility preferred.
  • Physically capable of performing all duties as required including heavy lifting.
  • Able to work all shifts.

Compensation and Other Information:

Start - $25.00 per hour
6 Months or 1040 hours - $25.30 per hour
1 Year or 2080 Hours - $26.05 per hour

Work Arrangement: On-site at the Dearness Home, 710 Southdale Rd E, London, ON.
