Summary of Duties:

The City of London is currently recruiting a foreign trained professional who is working towards their accreditation as an Engineer.

Work Performed:

  • Review and analyze engineering drawings and reports for a variety of aspects of the City of London’s Rapid Transit program.
  • Asist in reviewing, developing and recommending engineering plans, designs and programming that support divisional objectives, contributing to the implementation of strategic initiatives
  • Asist with assembling and undertaking engineering analyses of data for the City’s Rapid Transit program.
  • Prepare written and oral correspondence for a range of internal and external professionals (i.e., engineers, technologists, hydrogeologists, ecologists, biologists, landscape architects, planners, and operations staff) as well as the public.
  • Inspect contracted engineering works in the field.
  • Prepare acquisition documents for engineering consulting and construction services in accordance with the City’s Procurement of Goods and Services policy
  • Engage in opportunities to work across Divisions and Service Areas in support of enterprise-wide collaboration
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

It is preferable that candidates will have some experience working in an engineering or technical environment including experience with transportation design.

Previous experience with rapid transit or large-scale infrastructure implementation is an asset. Candidates are encouraged to present their previous work in the application procedure.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be a graduate of a recognized post-secondary education institute with Canadian equivalency with a Bachelor of Engineering degree (Civil or Environmental) from a University recognized by the P.E.O.

Candidates must also be working on obtaining accreditation as an Engineer and have experience working as an Engineer in their home country.

Compensation & Other Information:

$60,000/yr. 

This posting is for (1) Internship opportunity for up to 12 months. 

This opportunity is scheduled to be in-person with the potential to work remotely periodically.
