Summary of Duties:

Reports to the Manager, Facilities Planning Energy and Assets or designate. Responsible for coordination and organization of project data files and fulfilling back-up and support duties for project managers as required.

Work Performed:

  • Coordinate and monitor the preparation of “as built” information recording periodic facility alterations and upgrades.
  • Maintain an up to date and accurate “as built” information record for each facility.
  • Examine “as constructed” project drawings from consultants for conformance with drawing standards and conduct field checks of projects to verify accuracy of “as constructed” records.
  • Maintain an up to date “as built” drawing record for each facility.
  • Generate databases and spreadsheets containing “as built” facility information including methodologies for data transfer.
  • Maintain a filing, retrieval and reproduction system for plans in digital and hard copy format.
  • Work in the field conducting studies and surveys of various facilities.
  • Catalogue and file plans and other documents and refer thereto for required information.
  • Assist in the preparation and updating of procedures and guidelines to capture pertinent “as built” facility information records.
  • Liaise with staff from other Divisions/Departments and external consultants and contractors for the purpose of obtaining/providing facility information.
  • Assist with project management functions for capital works, renovations and maintenance projects.
  • Assist in contract administration including development of technical specifications for tenders, quotations and requests for proposals and cost estimates.
  • Receive and catalogue proposed changes to the City of London Facility Accessibility Design Standards.
  • Assist in the control of supplies and inventory.
  • Performs related and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Three year Community College Diploma in Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology or Interior Design.

Experience:

Up to one year related experience.

Specialized Training & Licenses:

Skills and abilities in the following areas are necessary:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD, word processing, spreadsheets and database software. Familiarity with other computer aided design software would be an asset
  • Fundamental knowledge of regulatory codes and design standards.
  • Valid Driver's Licence-Class G.

Compensation & Other Information:

$51,652 - $73,180 (Level 10)

This posting is for one (1) temporary full-time up to 1 year position.

Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Work Arrangement: On-site. Subject to change in accordance with business requirements.

These hours of work are subject to change in accordance with the Collective Agreement and may include evening hours and Saturdays.
