Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the Manager II, Conventions and Conferences, provides administrative support for all aspects of convention servicing.

Work Performed:

  • Communicates and works effectively with convention and conference clients to provide quality convention and conference services, including housing bureau, delegate welcome, transportation, program planning, referrals, information kits and other supports needed by the convention or conference and as provided by Tourism London.
  • Coordinates, schedules and documents all convention servicing requests.
  • Maintains an inventory of the supply of Tourism London promotional materials.
  • Assists and documents general sales enquiries for conventions and meetings and communicate them to the appropriate sales representative.
  • Coordinates and updates computer file information according to the standards and practices of Tourism London.
  • Assists in convention tourism marketing initiatives as required.
  • Assists with the setting up and operation of temporary information booths/centres at conventions, sports, leisure, municipal and other promotional and event-based activities.
  • Provides assistance in handling telephone or visitor centre inquiries, as required.
  • Performs evening or weekend job related duties, as required.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Two years from Tourism and Travel Diploma.

Experience:

Six months to one year related experience.

Specialized Training & Licenses:

Skills and abilities in the following areas are necessary:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and various software.
  • Typing speed of 50 w.p.m.
  • Valid Driver's License - Class G.

Compensation & Other Information:

$41,538 - $60,340 (Level 6)

This posting is for 1 permanent full-time position being filled on a permanent full-time basis.

Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Work Arrangement: Hybrid. Subject to change in accordance with business requirements.

These hours of work are subject to change in accordance with the Collective Agreement and may include evening hours and Saturdays.
