Summary of Duties:

Under the direction of the Manager, Community Life, performs a variety of clerical and administrative support functions and provides intake and ongoing maintenance of services to community long term care programs. 

Work Performed:

  • Provides clerical support to the Manager, Community Life.
  • Provides administrative support for the Adult Day Program admissions, discharges, billing and other duties as required.
  • Attends meetings and responsible for minutes & support for various programs.
  • Enters and checks data for day program billing.
  • Develops and maintains spreadsheets for budget tracking and other purposes.
  • Maintains data bases for other functions eg. Homemaking, accreditation, quality monitoring, etc.
  • Processes applications for subsidy in Homemaking program including telephone intake, initial home interview with client, including annual & semi-annual reviews. 
  • Liaises with doctors’ offices and other community agencies for information regarding application and arranges services for client.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned, including back up for other clerical staff when required.
  • Collects and monitors statistics as required. 
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Two-year Community College Social Service Worker Diploma  or equivalent.
  • Medical Terminology an asset.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and various software.
  • Valid drivers license and good driving record.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
     

Compensation and Other Information:

Start: $26.42/hr
6 months or 910 hrs: $29.06/hr
12 months or 1820 hrs: $32.02/hr
30 months or 4550hrs: $33.48/hr

 

Annual salary rate: $54,968 - $69,638.
